| Ishida Uryuu is a black-haired, bespectacled teenager of an average height of 5'7". His Black hair is generally kept short and neat in back with the bangs left long but parted to each side of his face to frame it in a way. He is never seen without his glasses who's squarish looking wire frames give him something to mess with whenever the nervous habit of 'adjusting' them takes hold, or he feels the need to make them catch the light in order to use the glinting effect in an attempt to intimidate them. As for his clothes, he likes making his every day casual wear. Plain dark pants and short sleeve shirts dominating his wardrobe usually. Otherwise he can be found in his school uniform. One rather notable thing about his clothes is the lack of buttons due to his dislike of them, instead he prefers the use of zippers and fasteners. His school uniform is a plain affair, gray pants and a white short sleeved shirt with a gray jacket for the colder months. A striped tie completes the look. |

| Uryuu is generally shy and quiet, a bit of a loner in a way. He's polite enough to his classmates, but he doesn't appear to be on a friendly basis with anyone until Ichigo comes along. He knows people in passing, but he doesn't show much of an interest in forging relationships, which is understandable when you consider how socially inept he can be. Part of it may be that he tries hard to act cool when other people are around. In addition, he also has a tendency to say things with characteristic drama. He's very intelligent and also rather observant. He tends to notice more than the other people around him him do. Uryuu has a strong sense of justice. He has also shown to be very chivalrous, stating that he enacts justice on men who abuse or treat women badly. He has a natural stubborn streak, and he isn't the type of guy to turn away from a challenge or go back on his word. He's also extremely proud, and he doesn't like the idea of being indebted to someone. He also has a tendency to not use lethal force in battle, especially if he can win without doing so. Instead, he will simply incapacitate his opponent. Uryuu can also be obsessive in a way, when he wants to be. He's the type to sit and brood over something for months or even years, and once he's made his mind up about something, he isn't likely to change it again so easily. Unfortunately, Uryuu doesn't hold his father, Ishida Ryuuken, in very high esteem; calling his father by his given name, which is considered very rude in Japanese society, anytime their paths have the misfortune to cross each other. One might also say that he's is rather in touch with his feminine side. Sewing and cooking are two of his favourite hobbies, and he definitely takes pride in his work. All together when one just takes a casual glance at the boy, you might just think that he's a dork with issues, but despite his eccentric nature and habits the boy is just a nice kid. Weird at times, but still loveable given a chance. |

| Born into a family of mediums, His grandfather, Souken, taught the young boy their hertitage, as Uryuu's father, Ryuuken, did not practice the ways of the exorcism, finding no profit in such a venture. The boy lived in both his grandfather's world and the more modern one of his father's until an unfortunate accident took the life of his grandfather. Despite the fact that they were able to get Souken to the hospital within minutes of the accident, he was unable to be saved and due to this, a grudge was born between son and father due to the small fact that his father was a physician at the hospital where Souken was taken. Because of this grudge, Uryuu moved himself out of his father's household and accquired his own place in the city to finish out his highschool years. Once that was finished, he considered placing even more distance between himself and his father, upon a little research into the best places to go, he decided head over into the states and enroll into Cross. |
